These questions test your verbal reasoning skills. This includes your testing vocabulary, a logical approach, your ability to determine patterns within words and your ability to manipulate words.
In these questions, one letter can be moved from the first word to the second word making two new words. The order of the letters must not be changed and the new words must make sense. Find the letter that moves and mark it on the answer sheet.
Example: clean slim
On the answer sheet you are given five letters to choose from, these are the five letters from the first word, written in order.

Start off by taking one letter at a time out of the first word to see if you are left with a proper word.
Answer option “A”, take away “c” leaves “lean”, which is a word. Can you fit “c” into “slim” to make a new word? No - none are proper words so you need to move on.
Answer option “B”, take away “l” leaves “cean”, which is not a word.
Answer option “C”, take away “e” leaves “clan”, which is a word. Can you fit “e” into “slim” to make a new word? Try eslim selim sleim sliem slime
Can you see that there is a proper word in this list, “slime”? So answer option “C” is the correct answer.
You do not have to check answer options “D” or “E” because there is only one correct answer.
